HR interview, then an interview with the hiring manager, then super day with 5+ interviews, a presentation, and a lunch with the hiring manager. HR interview was as described by everyone else here. Hiring manger is dependent on the group you are interviewing with. The other 5+ interviews were as expected, all with people in the current role. Didn't have a good experience. The people on the team were great but I felt the head of the group/hiring manager just looks for reason not to hire someone. He said he is "tough but fair" but when I made this comment to everyone in the current role, as opposed to agreeing with me they all had negative reactions, and my take away was he is tough and not fair (they all have to come in on Fridays even though it is work from home, all wearing suit jackets). Also felt the hiring manager didnt respect the substantial amount of time and effort required to prepare. It takes so much time to study the firm and create the 15 minute presentation, but in the end, his justifications for passing could have been concluded in the initial 30 minute interview prior to the super day. Also when discussing comp, the recruiter tried to pitch they have a low salary but your bonus could be 2-3x your salary. Don't fall for that. I've had that experience elsewhere and its just a trap to accept lower comp. You will never get a 2-3x bonus, I would guess 1x is standard, 1.5x in a great year, and a terrible year could be zero. If any firm says this, ask them to give you what multiple of the salaries the bonus pool was for previous few years. If they wont give it, its not true.
