I received a LinkedIn message from HR stating that they and the hiring manager were impressed by my experience. They asked me to review the position to see if I'd like to move forward. I ended up having a call to discuss the position with HR. I stated that there are several things you are looking for that I don't have experience with but am motivated to learn and he assured me that I should move forward with the process. I ended up having 4 consecutive (30 minute) teams interviews. I received no background on any of the individuals. Not even their titles. Just names and a time slot. My first meeting, the Sales Manager started off by saying "you're probably wondering why I'm even involved with this interview process..." The funny thing is that he was the most interactive with me. My final call was with the Senior Manager of Sales Operations where he lets me know right off the bat that he has a hard stop at 2:30PM and to start my elevator pitch... It was a horrible way to start a call. I respected his time and stopped at 2:30PM, which he then told me to email him any questions I had since I didn't have time to ask. He told me he'd be happy to answer them. He never replied. A few days later I receive a generic email stating "pleasure meeting you and hearing about your accomplishments, You are an impressive candidate, but unfortunately we won't be moving forward." Truth be told it felt more like an interrogation than a open conversation. Honestly, it was for the best. The position has been open for 3 months with over 100 applicants on LinkedIn. In my opinion they are looking for the "perfect" candidate, which they seem to be struggling with. Also, I was not looking for a new position. They reached out to me. The whole process lacked transparency, communication and organization. And from what I've read on Glassdoor their interview process is outdated and dragged on.
