I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Directive (New York, NY) in Sep 2023
Interview
Very professional with a shockingly quick turnaround for the next steps. They have clear communication and good expectation-setting for each stage of the interview. The company is very good at what they do (marketing), so if you are applying as a marketer, good prep is a must.

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Directive in Feb 2024
Interview
The interview process was slated to include 3 interviews, 1 project presentation and 2 references. I made it through 2 interviews and the project presentation. The screening interview with the recruiter was straightforward; the other interview and the project were frustrating, vague and antagonistic. If you work in marketing you've worked with a team like this a thousand times--huge on buzzwords and 'ownership,' scarce on using their actual words to communicate expectations or clear questions. The second interview round, which was a 30 minute 1:1 interview with the hiring manager, included 8 minutes (I clocked it) of the interviewer giving me unasked-for feedback on the cadence of my voice (not actually anything I said, not my experience...just didn't like the way I talk!). I've been unemployed for 3 months after holiday season layoffs, and I still was considering dropping out of the interview process because of how toxic the conversations and culture seemed to be.
