I applied online. I interviewed at Discovery, Inc.
Interview
One of the worst interview processes I've ever been in. Company required a long case study to even get into the door, which requires hours of work, and refuses to respond to applicants once the work is submitted. Seems awfully shady and a way to manipulate the pool of candidates for free work. DO NOT INTERVIEW AT THIS COMPANY, HIGHLY QUESTIONABLE INTERVIEW PRACTICES.
Please see below case study prompt provided by the company
Case Study Prompt:
Netflix is the leading subscription video on demand product on the market with ~200M subscribers globally. Despite the success, Netflix has yet to achieve positive free cash flow on an annual basis. A board member has asked Reed Hastings if Netflix should leverage its global scale and introduce advertising on its platform.
Imagine that you were hired as an outside advisor to Reed Hastings on this topic, what would you recommend? What are the key factors Netflix should consider in order to make the decision? Factors to consider may include consumer preference, business/financial impact, competitive considerations, and/or monetization options (e.g. pricing / ad-load)?
