Interview
You submit an online application and if they like it they will send a link for you to do an online recorded interview on Hirevue. It is an interview where Hirevue prompts written questions and you get a couple of minutes to prepare and then you record your answers. This feels very forced and awkward. It is not a natural interview and seems like Discovery does not care about interviewing potential interns since they do not take the time to do a phone call or Skype call. Discovery also only notifies you if you get the internship so if you do not make it to the next round you will never receive an email notifying you or any helpful feedback.

I was an unpaid intern at discovery and the interview process was smooth and supportive. Happy to report that the other interns I was with shared similar experiences. Now if only we had been paid the job, that would be amazing!

What types of stories are you most passionate about?
disorganized and ghosted. scheduled very last minute and then never heard back, even after the thank you and follow up. this has happened across a few departments at discovery for me
I had a hirevue with pretty standard questions. I never heard back from them so took a job somewhere else. Prepare for it like how you would prepare for any interview. Nothing outrageously hard was asked.
