Phone call interview. Interviewer was very friendly. She probably could tell I sounded nervous but even she ended up stuttering during speaking herself and laughed it off reassuring me that it’s normal. She first told me to tell her about myself and then why I wanted this position in the costuming department. Like everyone else I expressed my love for Disney and went on to explain that theater is a passion of mine and talked about my experience in Drama back in high school to support my reason for my interest in the costuming role posted. She liked how I had that experience and even told me how she was a theater kid herself when she was younger as well. Unfortunately since it wasn’t college level experience, it didn’t qualify me for that specific job but she said she really liked me and thought I was fit for another position in the park so she recommended me other roles. She asked my preference of either working in attractions, merchandise, food, etc and I listed 3 areas that I favored in order which she made note of and put me on the waitlist for future new-hirers. Also, since she knew I had interest in acting, she recommended me to check out the Disney character/performer auditions page. Then she asked if I had any volunteer experience since I’ve never worked before along with basic what if questions like what would I do in x situation handling a guest. The rest was just her asking general info from me like my availability especially with accommodating to my school schedule, if I had transportation, and telling me if I adhered to the required Disney look (natural hair color/style, no face/ear piercings besides one small earring per ear) . Throughout the interview I made sure to sound very enthusiastic so she could sense my positive energy radiating through the phone.
