I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Displayr (Sydney) in Jun 2022
Interview
I had 2 interview steps. One with the HR and one online coding challenge in Codility.
I failed at the online coding challenge which gives you a couple of test cases and runs your code against other "hidden" test cases after you submit the answer.
It's really not about testing your code structure and software engineering skills. But more about seeing the edge cases and predicting them. Which is not so great.
Also, the follow-ups were not smooth. You need to follow up after each step yourself. It kinda gets the feeling that they are not looking to hire someone. Although I hope that is not the case and that they are not deliberately wasting people's time.
Overall, the worst interview experience I had so far.
I am sorry you feel your interactions with us fell below par. We do take great pride in ensuring that all candidates feel informed and communicated with, during our recruitment process. A quick, internal audit showed that no candidate has waited more than 2 business days for feedback on their coding assessment but in future, we may extend this timeline if only to manage varying expectations of our candidates. I will also pass on your feedback regarding the technical tests to our senior engineers but to date, it has been a successful indicator in helping us decide who is technically strong enough for the challenging and complex work we undertake here at Displayr.
Thank you for taking the time and helping us look at ways we can improve what we do. Wishing you all the best in your job search.
