I only got part way through the interview process. Briefly, the described process was: 1. Initial interview with the Android team lead. 2. We'll ask you to complete a test task. 3. Interview with an Android developer on the team. 4. Final interview with the Backend team lead. Here was my direct experience: * I applied to a job opening, by filling out a form online describing my past experience and qualifications. I found the form to be interesting and thoughtful. * A few weeks later, I was asked to schedule an interview with the Android team lead. I had a variety of time slots to choose from, with about a week of leeway in terms of scheduling. * The interview was very relaxed and welcoming, gave me a good sense of the company, and what the role entailed / what the team was looking for. * I was invited to complete a practical project – which is the next step of the interview process – that would take no more than 10 hours. * However, based on the interview discussion, it became clear that the compensation offer might not match my current compensation, as I have a fairly high income at my current job. The Doist folks were very gracious by identifying this mismatch early on and transparently sharing the realistic comp range, which made it easy for me to exit the interview process early since it became clear this wouldn't be a good fit at this time.
