The interview process was the best I've ever seen in the Bay Area...They don't play games with you, or any trick stuff. It's either you get the job or you don't...No BS. I did think that 7 hours and speaking with 10 different people the same day was ridiculous. No one wants to sit in a tiny room for 7 hours straight with no breaks.
Overall, Dolby seems like a great company, just not for me. They are very "old school" in the sense that you'll be working the old type of hours in a not so great area. The new Dolby SF office is located downtown in not the best neighborhood. I couldnt imagine coming out of there at night after a long day at work, in a dangerous area. One thing Dolby could do is actually let people work from home, if possible. Most tech companies these days allow folks to remote in, or only come in a few days a week, this company is very old school in the sense they make you actually come in the office and work a 40+ hour work week, where most new tech companies are more "remote friendly" and allow you to work from home from time to time.
