I applied online. I interviewed at Dollar Tree (Lansing, MI) in Feb 2021
Interview
3 phone interviews: Recruiter, District Manager, Regional Manager. Took about 1 week. Was a good opportunity to learn more about the typical daily duties of a Dollar Tree store manager, such as 6 day/wk (48 hr min) work week; hands on shipping/receiving, stocking and cashiering; staffing levels; current condition of the store and management expectations. Plenty of time available for asking questions, as well as being asked some of the most common interview questions. Offer was ultimately made to an internal candidate who had already been preforming the role for at least 3 months.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Describe a challenging management experience. What was it and how di you resolve it?
The interview process was minimal and largely informal. The initial conversation with the regional leadership consisted of a brief phone call, and there was limited direct interaction with district management prior to starting. In fact, I did not meet the district manager until after onboarding and training, and did not meet the regional director in person until several months into the role. Overall, the hiring process felt more like a fast placement based on experience rather than a structured multi-step interview process.
You apply, talk to HR and District ,Lastly you will speak to the regional briefly. If experience whole process goes pretty fast. This position is very fast pace, its no down time.
I applied in-person. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Dollar Tree (Augusta, GA)
Interview
In depth questions regarding your experience are asked by the interviewer who is usually a District Manager. Good job description given when interviewed. May have more than one interview during the process.
