I have some feedback for you, though you didn't provide anything for me:
However, I am really surprised as to what could have gone wrong in the interview,
when 4/5 people said yes, and the 5th person was however not able to solve the question by herself.
Firstly, I think you guys need to recheck whether your internal engineers even know coding, before they start interviewing others(maybe try out some Udemy courses)
Secondly, I think you guys should recheck your beliefs of a Data Engineer. They are NOT DEVELOPERS!
