A recruiter reached out to me regarding the role, which I had seen posted for several months. I took the initial call and she felt I was a strong fit, surpassing expectations and would be able to bring the "fresh perspective" they are seeking. Said they would follow up in a few days to schedule an interview with the hiring manager. Five weeks later, I still haven't heard back. I've sent two follow ups with no response. Unprofessional and disrespectful to commit to a follow up and not even bother responding to an inquiry regarding candidacy. If a candidate isn't a fit, just say so.
