After applying to a job listing via LinkedIn, I received an email from a Talent Acquisition Manager a few days later. I responded and set up a time/date for an initial interview through a Google Meets call. The day of the interview arrived and I logged into the meeting link about 15 minutes early, as always. However, I ended up waiting about 20-25 minutes for the meeting to start. Finally, someone however but it's not the Talent Acq. Manager that I had been communicating with, but rather the COO. This is where the interview pretty much dissolved in terms of structure, professionalism, and eventually my interest within the company. While the COO explained that the Talent Acq. Manager had arranged the meeting, he had to step away and that he would be filling in instead. This would've been fine, but he seemed annoyed to be substituting at all. The questions he asked had a condescending tone and emphasising that what the company does is not for the faint of heart and requires familiarity with working weird hours and people in different time zones. Having done my homework on the company and the position prior (and also having experience working within hours ranging from the normal 9-5, as well as something like 9PM until 10-11AM the next day), I explained that I was well-aware of the type of work/products the company delivers (otherwise I wouldn't have applied) while citing my own experience. This was seemingly disregarded, possibly even ignored, since he wasn't really paying attention (but rather focusing his attention elsewhere) as I had to repeat my answers on occasion. This went on for sometime, approximately 20-25 minutes, until he apathetically prompted for any questions that I might've had. Since I was pretty much decided on that I did not want to pursue or have anymore communications with this company, I let him know that I didn't have any questions, leading to the end of the call. Much to my anticipation and relief, I received an email from him stating that they would not be proceeding with any further interviews.
