I got the HackerRank in mid-September of 2019 after applying online. The challenge that year was the "Autocomplete Scores" question, you can find it on Leetcode. I got an email that I passed a little over a week later, and scheduled a 1-hour phone interview for 2 weeks after. The phone interview itself was great. I was asked about designing some kind of basic storage system and how to make it fault tolerant. The interviewer was friendly and we solved the problem "together". I thought I did pretty well. I followed up a week after the interview and was told they would have an update for me shortly. I never got an update, and followed up again 2 weeks after that. The recruiter finally asked to schedule a 20-minute HR call that week. I provided some times and also some offer deadlines, and never got a response. At that point, I had just given up and accepted another offer. It's one thing to just get ghosted, but another for a recruiter to ask for availability for a short call and then never schedule it.
