      Associate Programmer Interview

      Sep 4, 2014
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Dropbox

      Interview

The initial application process is very simple. I submitted my CV online via the Dropbox careers webpage. The following working day I received an email from a Dropbox employee looking to find a date for an initial phone screening. I was asked to give all available times for the next two weeks. The phone call lasted about 30 minutes. She first asked me to explain a little bit about myself and to go through my cv. She explained a little bit about dropbox and also her role. I was asked how I thought Dropbox could be improved and also what my proudest achievement so far was. No feedback was given.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Dropbox (Dublin, Dublin) in Jun 2014

      Interview

I applied to the Dropbox Associate Programme via the Dropbox website. At first I got a reply that the DAP positions for 2014 were already filled. However, a couple of weeks later I received an email that I was selected for an interview for DAP 2014.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

There were no unexpected questions. Mostly motivation based i.e. why Dropbox? Why tech? Why Dublin? And also went through my resume, whether I had any experience in working closely with customers.

      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Dropbox in May 2014

      Interview

One phone interview, followed by 1st onsite interview day (3 interviews), 2nd interview day, 1 interview. Interviewers were incredibly friendly and laid back, so it can be very much up to you to demonstrate your value. Problem questions can be quite difficult, but your thought process in coming to an answer is as important as the answer you give.

      Question 1

What industry should dropbox attempt to expand into and why.
