My interview experience with Dropbox was exceptionally positive, characterized by a well-structured process encompassing a phone screening, two technical interviews, a design system interview, and a final HR discussion. Question 1
Given a file system, return a list of collections of duplicate files.
Ask about:
Symbolic link, same file/dir with diff name, cannot detect cycle by visited...cycle?
-use absolute path/ skip symbolic link (if we search the whole file system)
What about invalid or malformed files e.g. permission or cannot read
-compare file by hashing (MD5, SHA)
If dir depth is large: DFS might stack overflow, use BFS; the variable to store pathname might overflow.
-Most memory consuming: MD5, read in files etc
What about race conditions, like if someone is writing the file while you are reading etc
What if the process takes a long time?
-If error / hanging up in between: checkpoints, save states from time to time

Interview
take home OA, two technical rounds, system design and wrap up call with hiring manager. Very transparent, recruiter is there for you describing process in detail, they really want you to get hired
I did OA and phone screen. During the phone screen, the HR did not ask too much questions about myself and mainly spent time talking about next steps. And then ghost me from there. This is not a good interview experience and a timely feedback or reject would be much better.

Describe yourself and what is your goal in your new job
Initial coding exam with extreme difficulty, leetcode type exam with a time limit. After that you progress to an onsite interview with system design questions. The initial coding exam has about 3 multistep questions.
