I had a 30 minute introductory call with the Director of Performance of Marketing. He provided a high level overview of the team and business and I had about 2-3min to ask questions, which resulted in no specific information about the performance marketing operations.
He then gave me an assignment that took about 10-15 hours to complete. Naively I did the work involving analyzing and presenting recommendations off of about a year's worth of UA spend data from their agency.
Afterwards I was ghosted for a few weeks only to finally receive an email from the Director that they were holding the post, but only after repeated follow ups.
I felt from the experience the recruitment process was being used to generate free work and there was no serious consideration toward my candidacy. It was a very one-sided exchange.
