Interview
I applied online and after about a month received an extensive (4 pages) at home task, which as a native speaker of the language in question I completed promptly and thoroughly. After another month I received an e-mail that I did not get the job.
This position is a freelance position and I fulfill all the criteria of the job description. Even my current FT job has the same title and work duties. I am a native speaker with an advanced degree in the language and 15+ years teaching that language to English speakers.
The rejection e-mail was quite short, did not provide a reason as to why I wasn't selected, and quite honestly, really unprofessional. I have been getting the feeling that I was used to provide free feedback on something that they did not want to pay someone for. That is an unacceptable and really shady business practice.
