Process began with an email then a phone interview with HR. These were very pleasant, engaging, and insightful. I looked forward to the onsite interview. Unfortunately that interview was excruciatingly odd and uncomfortable. He looked me up and down when we met as if his disappointment was confirmed and it was palpable, his mind was made up before we met. I was surprised it was one on one as it (I) could have used more interaction but he was going through the motions. He seemed bothered to be in the interview and the worst was he made no eye contact unless he was speaking about himself. Felt like a 'how awkward I can I make it' interview, as there were stretches of time where he was looking at his notebook and nothing was being said! No inquiring questions, there was little conversation about skills or anything pertaining to the position, he suggested I would be better on other teams but it was all filler. Reminded me of times when HR/recruiter would set up an interview but the team leader wanted to pick who they saw so they just go through it then report back a no so they can be 'in charge'.
