Early Warning Services Systems Engineer 1 interview questions

Went by OK. Submitted app on Jan 19 2024. Got response from recruiter to set up interview on the Jan 23 and was interviewed (screened) on the 25th. I was told the salary range was for a different state so recruiter would reach out to me next day Friday or no later than following Monday (a couple of days) and that I could possibly get squeezed into hiring manager's calendar on Tuesday (all within same 7 day week). I hear nothing on salary range, was not added to calendar on Tuesday and on Thursday, they hired someone else. I guess I was interviewed while their "choice" was pondering their offer?
