I was contacted by the CEO via LinkedIn regarding job openings. I have a background in Geology and Environmental Consulting, but I used their EQUIS software quite a bit. I had two telephone interviews, one with a systems engineer and a second one with the help desk director. The first interview was great; systems engineer very friendly, approachable, very knowledgeable. Had good vibes from her. The second interview also went well; help desk director was very nice; perhaps a bit more reserved but she also provided a lot of helpful information. Nearly a whole month passed before I heard anything. I contacted the CEO and we set up a time to talk on the phone. I wasn't very satisfied with our conversation. I was told I was being considered but I lacked some skills and the way he came off when he told me this was a bit insulting. He then said I could still work for them, but the time to train me would take longer than usual. He wanted to meet me in a couple days to talk about it (the general meeting location quite a bit of travel for both of us) and acted as if he would still hire me. Told me to call him today to set it up. As mentioned, I wasn't too pleased with his presentation and his attitude turned me off as well. I doubt I will contact him. Yes, I've been job hunting for a while now, but I'm not going to settle and be unhappy working for someone whose attitude turned me off.
