I applied for the Health and Safety Manager role in NYC and completed three rounds of interviews ending in July 2025. The recruiter made a point of telling me she "remembers every single person she hires" as if to create a personal connection during the process.
After my final interview on July 2nd, I received complete silence for months. I only discovered the position had been filled when the new hire's profile appeared on LinkedIn. When I reached out to the recruiter with a professional email noting the lack of communication, she never responded - not even with a basic rejection email.
It's disappointing that someone who claims to "remember every person she hires" apparently doesn't extend that same consideration to candidates she discards. After investing time in three interviews, candidates deserve basic professional courtesy of communication about their status.
Future candidates should be prepared for the potential lack of follow-up communication even after extensive interview processes.
