Made it through two interviews, a 30min recruiter phone screen and 30min (turned 50min) video interview with the hiring manager, the Regional VP, in March 2025. After both interviews, everything seemed like it was going great! Both the hiring manager and recruiter were lovely to talk to, the hiring manager extended my interview by an extra 20min on the fly so she could keep talking with me in-depth. I was told I would hear back about any next steps within 2 weeks. Instead, they completely ghosted me. After two weeks of silence, I emailed the recruiter asking for an update. He replied quickly and said he would ask the hiring manager for an update and get back to me that same day. He never emailed or called me with an update. I waited a few days and asked the recruiter for an update again. Again he replied quickly and said the hiring manager was "putting out fires", but would make sure to get me an update by the end of that week. And again, he never emailed or called me with an update. I never heard from the recruiter again and I stopped bothering to ask for updates. I understand using basic copy emails for rejections without any interviews, or even after just a phone screen. But I met with two people, was told to keep an ear out for updates and potentially traveling out of state for an interview with a panel. It was very unprofessional to not only completely stop responding to me as a candidate, but to never even send a basic rejection email so I would know I wasn't being considered for the position. To continually assure me I would have an update by a specific timeframe and then not only fail to give me an update, but fail to correspond with me at all is not only unprofessional, it is unkind to me as a human being who put time and energy into two interviews. The job and team seemed great but the experience as a candidate left a bad taste in my mouth related to working for the company. They either don't care about candidates who have put in time and energy interviewing OR are so disorganized I was literally forgotten, neither of which bode well.
