I had a phone interview with HR that lasted about 35 minutes about 3 or 4 days later an in person interview was scheduled.
I met with one manager in person and I was seated in front of a laptop at the same time where another manager was Skyped in during the interview. They really seemed to dig deep and asked a lot of follow up questions to my responses. If basic questions about strengths and weeknesses were asked they followed up with questions asking me to describe a situation where I used those strengths. They also asked a lot of questions about my responses to the phone interview.
The interview lasted a full hour and was a tad stressful to me. I got the impression that the position would not have a lot of work life balance and kind of got the impression that the managers interviewing me were pretty stressed themselves. The position would have required me to be on call and I was iffy about that. Coming from a more laid back environment where I don’t have mandatory overtime or weekend work. I was unsure if the position was really right for me but I never heard back anyway.
