The interview process took over a month, and what seemed like them giving me an offer during the interview turned into zero communication after the interview. This, despite the fact they said they would communicate with me within the week after the panel all met together. I would rather these companies not lead you to believe that you would fit right in and be working for them soon when the reality is they didn't hire you and didn't even indicate that someone else was hired for the job. Some timely courtesy is appreciated, even if you aren't hired. The job market is hard right now, and leading potential employees to believe they would "fit right in" and then not even communicate is rude. The sooner you know you don't have a position, the sooner you can move on, or not pass up other interviews, etc. Lesson learned.
