I was approached by the team at Edelman. Someone had seen my work and wanted me to apply for a Senior Design role. I decided to come in for the interview and met with a couple team members. The interview was very relaxed and enjoyable. They invited me in for another interview the following week where I met with three other team members. Again, it was a very pleasant interview and the team was very nice. They all were excited about the work they were doing, and from what I could tell, were excited about me joining the team.
I was then told I would hear from them within the week which made it sound like I would be receiving an offer from HR once they sorted everything out internally. 2 weeks went by and I received a call from an in-house recruiter. The sounded very confused and began explaining the role to me like I was hearing about it for the first time. The recruiter had no idea that I had been in for two interviews already, and was assuming that I still needed to be interviewed. I explained to her I had already been in and met with 5 team members. I then received a call from another recruiter a couple days later who directed me to apply online through the Edelman site. The person explained that the role I would be applying for, was now for a Designer role and would no longer be a Senior Designer role. This was a very unpleasant conversation. I thought this was strange, considering I had two interviews already for the Senior Design position, but I decided to apply anyway.
I waited about a month and a half before hearing back from the recruiter that they had moved forward with another candidate. The process started out very well, but turned out to be sketchy.
