I had a similar experience to the person who interviewed for the "Partnerships" position -- the process left a bad taste in my mouth and I'm thankful I didn't invest too much time with this one.
Red flags abound. I learned from my interview with the head of marketing: they want to exponentially increase revenue in the next year but they do not want to increase resources all that much and that they weren't planning on many many marketing hires (yikes -- always a red flag "we want to 100x revenue, not change our marketing, but only hire a few people").
Also was sort of disturbing to me how the interviewer said that she wanted to keep the same tone, messaging and targeting in their marketing assets in general. In preparation of my interview, I signed up for their communications, and there is a lot to be improved regarding messaging, targeting, tone, copy, graphics, CTAs, etc. The interviewer seemed very green and as an experienced marketer, I knew to RUN and run fast.
She literally didn't have any questions for me but "tell me about your career path." There was zero rapport although I tried to build one and ask lots of questions (got no valuable answers). I later learned that I should've expected that. Wish I knew beforehand! I was genuinely so excited about the position, but felt let down but how much of a dud it was. The market is hot right now, and I did receive a couple compelling job offers that week so thankfully got to put this bad experience behind me quickly.
