I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Elevate Global
Interview
I am a fieldworker in a developing nation. I was requested to apply for a consulting role. The job description seemed vague and misguided, so I interviewed to gather more information.
I found the consultant interviewer from ELEVATE to have a poor understanding of basic migration issues locally nor regionally, despite calling themselves an expert. They seemingly used our interview to collect data for their own powerpoint slides.
It was a strange interview with unrealistic demands; essentially asking me to be a country director and oversee an 8-figure dollars program, but offering no infrastructure, colleagues, nor connections. Furthermore, the role offered was the lowest level. I advised them to set up a country office properly.
Later, I went asking around my field connections with both their "local partners" and clients, and found that ELEVATE had pawned off the work of their contracts to local NGOs at criminally low rates. ELEVATE does not even have a presence in the country, yet is acting as a middleman to "fix" the region.
Incredibly disappointed in this "social business". The irony of a supply chain auditor leeching onto developing world labour.

Question 1
What are the top 3 issues for migration in the region?
Interview was 2 rounds
First interviewer did not communicate expectations of the role clearly, second interviewer was harsh and took on an interrogative style - did not care to build rapport - in the area of consulting, this is important even at the interview stage

Interview
There were three rounds of interviews, and each with different level of interviewers, such as junior level management, senior level management, team leader and director. Was a typical corporate interview. Interviewers were trying to see whether candidate was the right fit and also asked me for my own preferences. Overall positive and friendly experience.
