      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Eliassen Group

      Interview

Started off as interview with HR, which went well. She described role, sounded interesting, then put me in touch with senior leader of group I'd be reporting into. This is where it started to go wrong. The interview was odd, with each question being cut off after about 15-20 seconds. (He explained that if he heard the answer he was looking for, he'd just go to next question to save his time). OK. I understand if you want to know if I know what I'm talking about, but this came off as "my time is more important than yours...and I'm just looking to know if you can answer an oral exam." At end of interview, he said "congrats, you've passed" (Ok, good...) "You can now be an associate." Um. I thought I was interviewing for a director level role. Oh, no. That position is gone. But you can come on as an associate and work into a leadership role, after all, we want to see what you can do. Um, no thank you. I guess I should be flattered that I continue to be called by them. However, each HR rep is different who calls me, and I can hear them reading my bio as they talk to me, versus taking the 3 to 5 mins before the call to know a bit about me and the history. In the end, it felt much like a body shop than a group interested in partnerships and careers.

      Question 1

Let's do a role play. I'm an experienced technologist threatening to leave because I don't want to work under Agile. How do you handle this situation?
