I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Emergent Software in Dec 2023
Interview
Applied online, and pretty quick was sent a tech quiz. Nobody called me, and I got a simple email saying to take the test before moving on. The video before the test says “if you don’t want to take a test as part of the interview process, please leave”. Ok. Rude.. but I get it.. so I took the test. Over an hour of coding and working through the problems where I had to have my webcam on. I got back a score that said I aced the test. Sweet, I’m sure I’ll move on to next rounds. No. A month later, no interview. Just a rejection email. What a scum company to just force you to take a test that they don’t care about the results from. Unless you like working for free during the interview, stay away/ there’s no guarantee they will reach out even if you ace the exam.

Question 1
Uses test gorilla for their test. Thought the test itself was kind of fun. I believe the question was related to figuring out which number was larger if they were both represented as arrays. I.e. 1050 as [‘1’,’0’,’5’,’0’].
1. Initial application (with required essay questions)
2. TestGorilla Fisher Price IQ/SAT test
3. Phone screening
4. Take-home project
5. Final interview
6. Low-ball offer
They are filtering for a certain type of person who is ready to drink the kool-aid and work for below-market pay for a remote role.
Wish I checked Glassdoor first, most of the positive reviews seem so obviously fake that it's comical:
"It started with a quiz similar to a mini-IQ test that was intriguing and thoughtful. I also took a coding assessment that combined a ton of needed skills useful in today’s industry."

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Emergent Software
Interview
The interview experience was top-notch. I was introduced to various roles across the organization throughout the process. It started with a quiz similar to a mini-IQ test that was intriguing and thoughtful. I also took a coding assessment that combined a ton of needed skills useful in today’s industry. The final interview had me meet two incredible developers who were kind and talked to me about my project as well as the types of projects and tools used at Emergent Software.
