      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Employ (MA) (San Mateo, CA) in Jan 2015

      Interview

I was contacted by a very determined recruiter who organized an onsite interview with several key players the next week. The interviews were not too rigorous. The whole process took place over a three hour span.

      Application

I applied through other source. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Employ (MA) (San Francisco, CA)

      Interview

One of the co-founders reached out to me cold via LinkedIn. He claimed to be a McKinsey guy, but appears to only have been a summer intern at one point. After more research I felt their product was interesting and replied to setup a meeting. We met in person and talked about Lever. There were some references to "Moneyball" but I didn't get the sense that they had much sales experience or even anyone working in sales yet. I met another co-founder and someone who was heading up their marketing efforts (who now appears to be their CEO?!). They talked about their alpha clients, but wouldn't mention any name. I was asked how I would approach their sales challenges, to which I presented some ideas which didn't seem to land. At the end of the meeting they said they'd be in touch, but I didn't hear from them again. For a company that is trying to impact the recruiting space they seemed to lack some basic recruiting etiquette. If I'm not who you're looking for I understand, but have the respect to follow up and let me know.

Hi there--thanks for the feedback--would you mind contacting us directly? We really do want your feedback so we can improve, but our CEO isn’t our CMO and we don’t have ex-McKinsey folks on staff, so we just want to make sure we take away the right action items. Thank you!
