      Technical Support Specialist Interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Employ (MA) (San Francisco, CA) in Aug 2018

      Interview

After applying online I was contacted by an internal recruiter by e-mail and I set up an appointment to discuss the role over the phone. We went over the responsibilities contained within the job description and then I had a chance to talk about my previous experience and how it related to the position. The recruiter was friendly and engaged in the discussion and let me know what the next steps would be if they were to proceed with the interview process. A short time later the recruiter reached back out with positive feedback and extended the opportunity to speak over the phone with a team member. We set up an appointment for the following day. This interview was again a more technical overview of my experience and a dive into the role responsibilities. Again I was given a basic "next steps" if the company were to proceed. The following day I was contacted again by e-mail with positive feedback regarding the experience and an offer to schedule an on-site interview with various members of the department. This interview was again scheduled for the following day and included 1:1 interviews with the team member I had spoken with previously, the director of service and support, and finally the VP of Customer Success. A member of the candidate experience team was brought in and helped coordinate the time and expectations for each interview. I planned to arrive early as this was my first trip to the San Francisco area, but was faced with the most dreaded situation a potential candidate could have for an on-site day. I got lost. Once I determined that Apple maps sent me the wrong direction, I sent a quick e-mail to my CE representative to let her know my circumstance and received a prompt response that they had received my note and would see me soon. Upon arriving they were very understanding and my interviews proceeded (minus the initial tour of the office that we no longer had time for). Each interviewer arrived prepared and we had the opportunity to discuss the role, my experience and how I would be able to contribute to the teams. I was given plenty of time to ask questions and learn more about the role, company and values. Throughout the process it became very clear that Lever was extremely invested in the candidate experience for their hiring process. As I spoke with each of the team members you could tell that Lever is an extremely people-oriented company, and they go to great lengths to assure that their ideal candidate is able to understand their company culture and be an active and deeply engaged participant in their role. After my 1:1 interviews I was contacted to schedule a final interview round on-site which consisted of a meet and greet with the members of the CS team during their company lunch and to participate in what appeared to be a values assessment. We had a great chat with the team and the final assessment was straight-forward and left plenty of time to talk with the recruiter about company culture, personal experiences and details regarding things like benefits, perks and other nice-to-knows. Simply put, this was the best interview experience I have ever had.
