I applied through an employee referral. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Employ (MA) (San Francisco, CA) in Sep 2018
Interview
I was on a tight timeline and already had given a verbal before coming into my first onsite but I wanted to respect their time and process. Lever blew me away - I knew when I left that I was going to do everything I could to end up here. The people, team, attention to detail, overall thoughtfulness to me as a candidate; it just spoke volumes.
The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Employ (MA) (San Francisco, CA) in Mar 2018
Interview
The hiring manager first reached out to me in January while I was relatively happy at my then job. We met for coffee because I wanted to learn more about Lever, and I was really excited by what I heard. The timing wasn't quite right for me, but I reached back out to the hiring manager about 1.5 months later to continue the process.
The interview process was very smooth and timely. The recruiter and hiring manager were prompt with their follow up and always offered to spend time talking in between interviews.
I went through a recruiter phone screen, which was very informal (I had already talked with the hiring manager twice at that point). From there, I came onsite and interviewed with 3-4 people in a standard interview format + a brief sales discovery role play. After that was a second onsite interview which included one more interview, a casual conversation with the hiring manager, and finished with an insightful, no pressure exercise they call Career Trajectory.
Two days later the hiring manager called me to make me an offer.

Question 1
Why do you want to leave a much larger company to join a smaller company like Lever?
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Employ (MA) (San Francisco, CA) in Dec 2017
Interview
I first met the director for coffee and was immediately interested in Lever. I was struck by his professionalism and passionate about the company and where they were headed. I felt like he immediately understood me and my strengths. I was working full time and said it was hard for me to take 4 hours off to interview. Thole hiring team was very flexible with me and split my interview up into two days. It was clear Lever needed to make a decision quickly but I never felt rushed and everyone was ver transparent on the timeline, which I appreciated. My last step was having lunch with the team which was a nice way for me to speak with future colleagues without my manager present. One senior account executive and I did not get to connect much at lunch because we were both talking to other people. When I got home after the lunch, I noticed she had emailed me saying she was sorry we didn't talk more and she was excited about me coming to Lever. It was these little touches that were so thoughtful. Everyone had a consistent message that was upbeat but realistic and very future focused. I ultimately joined the company for two reasons - I thought I could learn from the director and the positivity of the sales culture.
