Interview
I was called within a few days of submitting my resume online. I had a phone interview scheduled by the end of that week. However, the meeting invitation had both video conference and conference call options. I didn't realize this until about a half hour before the scheduled interview, as I had to find a spot to interview away from my office. I dialed into the video and waited a minute or two. I decided to give the conference line a try, and the recruiter was waiting. I could tell I blew it as he immediately went into his checklist of questions. I wish I had told him about the confusion, but he was already resigned to not hiring me. I'm sure they have a great process given recruiting is their entire business, but the process didn't work for me. It was also disconcerting time that my counterpart had been just promoted from customer service...no marketing experience from what he said. I have an MBA in marketing and 6+ years marketing management experience. Ultimately I got a much better offer at another company a week or so later... pity.
