      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Employ (MA) in Apr 2021

      Interview

I applied online and was asked to book in a phone screening with a recruiter the following day. I booked it in for Friday that week and 30 minutes before the screening the recruiter asked to re-schedule. I told her Monday at 9 am would work for me and that I was flexible that day but I had another interview at 12:30pm. She replied to me late Friday evening that she could do 8:30am on Monday. I confirmed. On Monday morning she sent me a Google Cal invite to re-schedule our call to 11:30 am with no context or accompanying email. She then re-scheduled again to 1:30pm, and again to 4:30pm (she said, “last one I promise I hope we can make this work :)”). Finally at 4:30pm she sent a note that her current meeting was running over and asked to have the call at 4:45pm. We finally had the call and she apologized saying she had family issues. While I completely understand that things crop up in life, I felt that the situation could have been handled better. The call was straight forward with a basic review of my background and experience, although, she did interrupt the call to pick up a package from her husband. It felt a bit scatty and I wonder if I had the same recruiter as the reviewer below whose recruiter was feeding their cat during the call... At the end of the call she said she would contact me on Wednesday to tell me if I was going to move forward. I heard nothing Wednesday or Thursday so I emailed her Friday morning asking for an update. She immediately replied to say the reason she had not gotten in touch was because she was waiting to see if a final round candidate was going to accept or not. Again, this is completely understandable but I wish she had informed me that on Wednesday so I knew where I stood. As a Customer Success Manager, I would never dream of treating my clients this way. As a recruiter representing an Talent Management Suite, I felt her behavior was a huge let down to Lever and the experience they aim to deliver to all candidates. There were so many ways this could have been handled better. Really disappointed with this experience.

      Interview

Very transparent, highly engaging, constant follow up and updates, recruiter was highly motivating and supportive . Process was defined and told to me in advance. Everyone was engaging, and meeting the people drove further interest in wanting to join the organization.

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Employ (MA) in Apr 2022

      Interview

I found the interview process at Lever extremely unprofessional. After reaching out to me through email, I scheduled a time to speak with the recruiter. She was kind, but kept moving the interview date & time, the only notice being Google Calendar reminders with the most moves being the day before the interview. The recruiter was enthusiastic, coming back from a lengthy leave and did not hesitate to pitch Lever to me. So much so that most of the conversation was the assets of Lever. One thing that stuck with me was her mention of diversity & inclusion and how they have interview quotas for diverse candidates. I immediately started to wonder if I was just a number and a checkbox they wanted to mark off and if there was any real intention of hiring me. Out of the 30 minute conversation we had, 25 were about the company and 5 about a mutual connection. I wasn't sure where I stood so. I asked about the next steps to which she said she would schedule a second meeting. I felt good about that. So good that I went for a walk after the phone interview and was surprised when the recruiter called me again. I said, "Hi!" and she introduced herself to me like I was a new candidate even though we had just spoke and she mentioned in the interview she had a hard stop. She apologized and hung up. The second interview was with someone in a position of management. He seemed very egotistic with his first question asking me what I thought about his LinkedIn profile. I was well prepared for the interview with statistics from my current job and my former job, he even admitted so towards the end of the interview. Every question he had seemed to be a gotcha question and despite my accolades I found it offputting that he was mansplaining what churn was. He was actively trying to dissuade me from the role highlighting only negativity and what he was able to accomplish for his team. I can say that he flipped the switch in terms of attitude in that while the recruiter was enthusiastic to have me, he was full of negative energy. I never felt more like a number. To this day, and it's been a month later, while I received a survey for my interview experience which I gladly filled out, I have not received word from the recruiter nor the second interviewer on my candidacy. I emailed both after my interviews expressing my appreciation even though I truly feel like my candidacy was to satisfy a company rule, a "Rooney Rule" interview. For Lever, a recruiting ATS company, this is appalling. The mistakes of the recruiter, while unprofessional, are forgivable given their schedules. However, the level of unprofessionalism where a presidents' club winning second interviewer can talk down to an established candidate and openly say that competitors like Greenhouse and others were markedly better are reasons why Lever will eternally be hiring for the position.

      Interview

Overall the interview process was pretty normal and relatively smooth. My Recruiter Ash was loaded with pep and personality which I really appreciate. It's always terrible trying to work with a dull recruiter. I went from a standard phone screen, to a 1:1 interview with the hiring manager, to a panel interview with some of the team where they had me discuss an achievement that was impactful to my professional growth. I was presented an offer shortly after.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

All the standard "tell me about a time...." with focus on growing accounts and finding new business within existing accounts. Heavy on the revenue-based questions.
