Applied online, recruiter reached out the next day to schedule a 30 mins phone screen. Recruiter was late for close to 10 mins and did not provide any reason for being late. She didn’t sound interested at all throughout the interview process, and pretty much rejected me on the spot by saying they were looking for someone with more experience. When she was talking about their own product, it also sounded like she was not proud of it. As expected, I got a canned rejection email the next day. It was a very confusing interview. I get that they were probably sourcing people in the pipeline as backups or potential candidates for future roles, but it would have been better to set the right expectation at the beginning of the interview or reach out when there’s an actual role that fits the candidate. Also, please respect people’s time.
