Enova Data Mining interview questions

In San Diego, I don't think the hire manager really read my resume carefully. He grabed a number of resumes and seems read mine 1 mins ago. He did not ask my area, my research or my projects. He just ask me a question, for a while, I tried to figure out is it a statistic or machine learning question. My major is data mining, but he asked me some finance questions. I don't understand if they want some finance guy, why interview me? It' just waste time.
