My first round interview was fairly pleasant. The interviewer was kind and made me feel comfortable asking questions.
The second round is where things seemed to go wrong. The interviewer didn't work for Environment America but for the Public Interest Network, which made it hard to get a grasp for the organization. Not only this, but I felt for each question I answered, he argued with me about my answer and made me feel extremely disrespected. He asked me questions which prompted answers regarding human rights and environmental justice and then proceeded to tell me that Environment America does not care about equity within climate change solutions. There was certainly a disconnect of values between myself and the interviewer and he made no effort to smooth it out, and even took it as far as blatantly pushing his political views and opinions.
Their phrase "environment for environment sake" is simply their way of saying, we will do whatever it takes to find sustainable lifestyle options, even if it negatively impacts lower income communities and minoritized groups.
For a recent grad looking to get into conservation work, I felt this organization was simply looking to exploit my passion for the planet and pay me next to nothing.

If there was a climate change solution that made significant scientific progress but greatly negatively impacted lower income communities, would you proceed or pull back?
Interview process was long. I didn't make it all the way through, wasn't worth continuing for a small salary. I had one of my interviews cancelled and rescheduled last minute and had to wait for an interviewer to show up for maybe 10-15 minutes.
