I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Epic Games in Jan 2018
Interview
I applied to the position online in mid December 2017. I received an email 2 weeks later saying that they wanted to set up a phone screen with me. I did the phone screen the following week. Before the phone screen ended, the recruiter said they wanted to set up a Google Hangouts meeting with 2 leads.
I did the Google Hangouts meeting the same week as the phone screen.
The next day they emailed me saying they wanted to set up a 3rd Google Hangouts meeting with 2 additional team members. I did the 3rd meeting the following week.
Everything seemed to go really well and the communication with the recruiter was great. Throughout the process up that point only a few days would go by before I heard anything back.
I didn't hear anything for a week after the 3rd meeting so I sent a follow up email. 2 days later I received a generic automated rejection email. I responded looking for feedback, and I didn't hear back at all. I'm not sure what went wrong but be aware something like this could happen.
1 phone screening with Recruiter, then 2 interviews with the HR manager. The phone screening was pretty simple, your average "tell me about yourself" type of interview. The 2 interviews with HR manager were a bit more difficult as they asked more technical questions.
Very smooth, I had two interviews, one with the recruiter and one with the team. I heard from the recruiter who basically vetted if I could do the job then the meeting with the team was more about if I would be a fit. The interview process took about three weeks.

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Epic Games
Interview
Was interviewed in multiple rounds. A recruiter at first, then a member of the team, and then a long series of interviews with many more team members. Was very expedient and there was great communication all around.
