      Technical Service Representative Interview

      Sep 3, 2014
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Epic in Dec 2012

      Interview

Began with a basic phone screening to go over details from my application with someone with HR, which led to them asking if I'd be interested in interviewing for a different position as well. This was followed by another phone interview with someone in the role I had applied for with pretty standard questions about my background, what I'm looking for, why I think I'd be a good fit, etc. After this I went for a 10 hour day on campus which involved meeting with several people both individually and in small groups, as well as several hours of testing on logic, verbal skills, and programming. After that I received an offer and had a follow-up call with someone on the team I'd actually be working on. The whole process from application to signing my offer was about 1 month.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Very detailed 'what would you do?' case scenario questions using Epic internal language that seemed to be looking for a specific answer, but the interviewer would not answer any questions for background info or context.

      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Epic (Verona, WI)

      Interview

The interview process consisted of a phone interview, followed by online questionnaires, then the on site interview. The phone interview was a basic personality interview, with questions about living in Wisconsin, about working in healthcare, etc. They basically wanted to make sure you were not a sociopath or lying on your resume/application. The online questionnaires were standard personality/skills ones. The on site interview was a standard "what would you do in X situation" style interview followed by a couple of tests. The tests were for computer skills and basic programming. You didn't have to write in a specific language, as no one knows how to write in M (the languate they work with) anyway.

      Question 1

Tell me a time when you had an issue with a coworker and how did you resolve it?

      Madison, WI
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through college or university. The process took 7 weeks. I interviewed at Epic (Madison, WI) in Jan 2015

      Interview

1st: phone interview to figure out logistics, not many interview type questions (when could you start, how often would you mind traveling, would you relocate to WI,etc) 2nd: logic and coding online placement tests. These are just to see where you are and how you think through logic problems, even the coding sections are just to see your thought process, they aren't even in a specific language. 3rd: personality test. I think this is just to see exactly what role you would be a good fit for. 4th: on-site interview. They let me bring my husband from VA to WI to visit the city! The on-site had tours and meetings and a few different types of interviews. One interview about issue prioritization and important steps. One interview about personality and situation-specific questions. Lastly, one interview about next steps and logistics.

      Interview questions [2]

      Question 1

How would you prioritize a set of healthcare EMR technical issues?

      Question 2

How would you deal with a physician who doesn't think you know what you're talking about?

      Technical Service Representative Interview

      May 18, 2013
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer

      Application

I applied through college or university. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Epic

      Interview

I first applied through my college job fair. The recruiter submitted my information into their system and I got their email after about a week later. I was set up for a 30min phone interview. They asked me basic questions like any other interviews. Then I was set up for an assessment test. After that, I was disqualified. Good to have at least a basic computer programming skill.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

The assessment test really tests how well you do problem solving, such as some math problems and how fast you get adapted to the new programming.
