The company approached me personally and after a phone call with a higher up, invited me in for an "informal chat" and to show me around the company, to give me an idea of who they were and to sell the opportunity.
I arrived and the person who I had spoken to and intially invited me in, was missing. So I was thrown in to a 2 on 1 formal interview with two (nice enough) members of staff who were asking me questions like why I had applied, which of course I hadn't.
After getting my sudden interviewers up to speed, we had a pretty great chat, but that was it.
My feedback was strange, almost as if it were for someone else. I was told I was under dressed for a formal interview, which was ironic because I was smarter than anyone I saw in the very busy office, not to mention I had been invited for an informal chat.
I was also told that I didn't show an interest in the money whereas during the interview, when I was asked about salary, I quoted a desire for more than what they were offering.
An odd experience, but not a waste of time because now I know I don't wish to ever work for that company.
