I recently had an experience with EquipmentShare that compels me to share my feedback on Glassdoor. The initial outreach by a recruiter on LinkedIn introduced an intriguing opportunity aligning with my professional background, prompting my engagement in the interview process.
After a positive meeting with the hiring manager, both the manager and the recruiter conveyed satisfaction with my performance, outlining the subsequent steps in the process, which included a planned meeting with a Senior Manager. Regrettably, after agreeing to meet with the senior manager, it seems he rejected the meeting and, instead, introduced an unexpected technical assessment as a form of rejection.
The abrupt introduction of this technical assessment, unprecedented in their process, Despite positive feedback during the assessment, the subsequent rejection without detailed feedback leaves room for speculation.
Upon conducting a background check on the senior manager, I uncovered information that suggests a potential inclination toward a discriminatory practice in my case. While I have never previously raised concerns about race, the discovery of such unsettling discrimination about a senior professional raises important questions about the fairness and equality within the company's hiring practices.
I am sharing this experience not as a means to play the "race card" but to shed light on what appears to be a questionable and potentially discriminatory decision-making process. It is disheartening to encounter such situations in professional settings, and I hope that my feedback contributes to fostering a more inclusive and fair work.
