Not to excuse my subpar performance, nonetheless, possibly one of the most disorganised and mundane interviews.
First received an invitation to complete a personality assessment & IQ test (very basic questions, not difficult)
Skype interview was where the whole situation simply falled apart
Interview was scheduled at 1:00PM. Did not receive a call until 1:07 (1st red flag). After putting me through Skype, I was left on hold for 20 minutes (2nd red flag). In the meantime, another representative from Equity Methods called and asked me to interview, which I replied: "Yes...I am currently already being put on hold by another representative from your company" She then yelled over (could hear her on the phone) "Hey are we supposed to be having an interview with this guy??" (3rd red flag)
After another excruciating moment of being put on hold, I was informed that they needed to change rooms to continue the interview, *put on hold again while they change room*, the new room has a broken webcam and thus, I had to go through 2 hours of interview on whilst not being able to see who I was talking to (4th red flag)
First panel (2 people): basic mundane questions about their company and my background, my honest answers were met not with enthusiasm but doubt, genuinely seemed to question the authenticity of my resume (5th red flag), one interviewer had a heavy accent, that, combined with the bad mic quality, had such an impact on the interview that I had to repeatedly ask them to re-state their question (6th red flag). Followed by a few brain teasers.
Second panel apparently had no knowledge that their webcam was broke (7th red flag: is there no communication/coordination amongst the company employees at all?? Why didn't the first panel inform them of the most basic things??) Mostly technical interview on a 15-pg case. One interviewer was patient and amicable, while the other seemed fed up and condescending in a way unrelated to the case.
Overall experience seemed to be more of an exam/interrogation than an interview. Interviewers were not interested in who I am, they were interested in gauging my abilities, mostly to see if I was "competent/smart" enough. Lack of internal control and very disorganised, filled with tardiness, technical difficulties and attitude.
