- I applied to Ericsson Indonesia and was initially impressed by how quickly the HR team responded. I received an email for an initial call shortly after submitting my application, which showed efficiency on their part.
- However, the process became confusing afterward. The schedule indicated that it would be an HR discussion, but instead, I was suddenly interviewed directly by the VP of the division. While I appreciated the opportunity to speak with a senior leader, it would have been more professional if the HR team had communicated this situation clearly beforehand.
- The VP interviewer was courteous and engaging — I genuinely enjoyed the conversation and left the interview with a good impression of the company’s values and leadership approach. Unfortunately, this positive feeling didn’t last long. I waited for two weeks with no update, so I followed up with the HR team regarding the interview result or feedback. Disappointingly, they completely ghosted me — no reply, no closure, not even a rejection email.
- For a company as reputable as Ericsson, this lack of basic candidate communication is unacceptable. Respecting candidates’ time and providing feedback (even if it’s a rejection) should be standard practice, especially after investing time to meet with a senior management.
