Be prepared to take an exam and create a design presentation which includes a floor plan, fabric, finish and furnishings. Do your homework and be familiar with each merchandise collection offered.
Visit a showroom before the interview . Speak with an employee to learn about the company culture and expectations of the position. Bring samples of your work to the interview.
It is thorough and you need to complete a design assignment. If you know what you are doing, it’s very fun. It took over a month to get hired, so be patient.
