The interview process was fairly straightforward - after initial screening via phone there was an interview on Zoom with the client. The client's questions would differ from company to company and from one type of position to another, so it is not relevant to Ettain in particular.
However, this company does drug testing, which is ludicrous.
First, people don't achieve the level of professional skill that these jobs require if they are impaired on the job.
Secondly, drug testing does NOT test job impairment. It will tell if you took medical marijuana for your sciatica a month ago, but will not tell if you have a hangover right now.
Third, a person can be impaired on the job for a lot of reasons that it does not test at all - picture the truck driver who hasn't slept in 14 hours. It won't catch that. Or if you are impaired due to taking prescription drugs.
Last, it frequently give false positives for all sorts of benign substances like weight loss pills, poppy seed bagels, certain antibiotics like Rifampin, etc.
In states where marijuana use is legal, the company still will see recreational or even medical use as a test failure.
Drug tests are stupid and insulting. And they DON'T WORK.
