Dropped my resume online and heard back from HR to set up a phone screening only a few days later. The phone screening was a basic 15 minute conversation with the recruiter. During the phone screening she notified me that I would be speaking with the Hiring Manager in the following round interview, and prior to this discussion should would send me a finance homework assignment.
This finance HW assignment consisted of building out a financial model for a project and scaling it for future growth. Additionally, you had to put together a presentation to executive management about the project. In addition to this piece you had to estimate some of their revenues/costs with essentially no information. As this is still a private company it was extremely hard to find information to support some of the conclusions. This was due 24 hours prior to the scheduled interview, and they requested to have the interview almost immediately after the phone screening.
The hiring manager just asked about the model and then a few other finance-specific questions as well as the general "why this company", "why this role", etc. Both the hiring manager and recruiter were very pleasant to work with.
