I applied online. I interviewed at Everbridge in Oct 2019
Interview
I showed up to a mostly deserted office and my interviewers wouldn't show up so it became a game of waiting for long periods followed by someone on the interview list randomly show up. The questions were soft, generic, canned interview questions. The organization alignment of the security team was sub-optimal and questions about strategic direction and program maturity goals were answered vaguely. They seemed very disorganized beyond restating the marketing spin on how the organization is on a mission that has to be believed in. They were also expecting to pay an unrealistically low salary for this position.
The follow up email stated that while my qualifications were "right on the mark", I don't have experience as a "CISO" for at least 5 years (I have been leading security programs for over 16 years) - so obviously didn't even go through my resume.
