      Agile Coach Interview

      Application

I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Evernorth in Mar 2024

      Interview

Interview was scheduled via a 3rd party and took around 10-12 days to finally set it up. I was mentally prepared since many glassdoor reviews mentioned that the interviewer is never on time, in my case the one in India joined like 5 mins late while the US based interviewer joined in 10 mins. The Senior person from US was more interested in having a conversation while technical questions were asked by the interviewer based in India. This person was a little too arrogant, his cross questioning skills were questionable and grilled me on Kanban. I probably have not been as exposed to Kanban as him/ in general- but a coach focusses on mindset while this interview primarily was to prove that I was not the right fit. The organization is undergoing a transformation and kanban seemed to be of more interest to this person. From the start this person started talking I realized that he is just trying to impress his boss and I just didn’t want to engage more. The focus was more on metrics, which seemed too “managerial” ( also stated his ‘x’ no of certifications, who introduces themselves like that?) I did challenge him on one aspect of the metrics and that is where he started preaching agile values- so he missed this step and directly started with metrics. Once it ended, i honestly felt that it was good riddance than work with such toxicity. After a week, I got a regret mail which I did sort of sense on the day of my interview, but I couldn’t care less.
