I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Everpure (San Francisco, CA) in Jun 2018
Interview
Made it through phone screen, two different in-person interview sessions a week apart. All interviews were positive and respectful experiences except the very last one... which was probably the worst interview I have experienced.
Final interviewer didn’t make eye contact from the start, asked me to regurgitate a highly complicated regex (an oddball interview question imo). Since speedy regurgitation of unreadable regexes was not something I had specifically prepped for, when I struggled to get the correct answer, the interviewer basically told me “the real answer was way more complicated” and declined to elaborate on the solution. I was astonished at how quickly and disrespectfully my candidacy had been discarded.
I went through another Sysadmin-type question regarding file system traversal, with confidence deflated, successfully answered albeit slowly. Following this disaster of an interview the interviewer then declared if I didn’t have any follow up questions, then we were done. The interviewer had zero interest in me at this point. I was immediately sure I was not getting an offer.
Considering I had gone through the phone screen, and no less than 6 1:1 in person interviews, this is a rotten way to treat candidates. On top of this it’s been 2.5 weeks since my last interview and despite an initial info call from the recruiter, I have had no feedback. I attempted to make contact almost a week ago and was utterly ignored by the recruiter.
Interview methodology seems to be broken at Pure. If I had simply memorized an overly-complicated regex that I would be ashamed to include in my source for lack of maintainability, I likely would have an offer. Sadly I don’t think this is an exaggeration. I would tend to
agree with those characterizing the interview experience at Pure as a “waste of time”... certainly was for me.
2 round done no update after that
First round was a design round with multithreading
Second round was also design round with locking check
After that waiting from hr to hear back as per me both round went well
But still no response , may be they will come back
Very fun interview questions that aren't the typical LeetCode ones. They did an on campus paper quiz and if you passed they followed up with an actual interview. If you passed the actual interview, they invited you to an onsite.
It was a well thought out process. They are mainly looking for your understanding and how well you can solve a problem. Just think out loud while solving it. That should help you out a lot.
